Bluebird Foods Snack Food Plant
Objectives
Bluebird Foods acquired the Krispa, Aztec and Naked manufacturing companies and tasked TEG with integrating the corn chip, potato chip and muesli bar manufacturing lines into its snack food manufacturing site in Wiri, Auckland. The project required a pellet frying line complete with heat exchanger, services, product transfer conveyors, flavouring equipment and packing lines.
Challenges
The already congested site needed to be reconfigured to allow placement of new equipment. Nut production meant that allergen requirements were implemented as part of this project.
Results
The successful installation delivered the project on-time and on-budget with production commencing with minimal issues. The additional production volume has reduced overall product manufacturing cost.
